Art of the Book is the Central Library’s signature yearly event. In 2010 we wanted to create a series of events to celebrate the Rochester Public Library’s 100th anniversary, so we explored the possibilities of a show featuring the book as an art object. In the last eight years we have managed to grow that first small show into an annual event that attracts book artists from around the world. Each year we are astonished by the creativity and technical abilities of the artists. Everyone looks forward to this show. This year, Art of the Book returns to the newly names Anthony Mascioli Gallery in Harold Hacker Hall with some exiting new works of art. It is fitting that the show has returned to our original building, where the architecture creates the perfect backdrop for an exhibit honoring books as an art form. We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the artists who participated in this event. Your work is amazing. Thank you for sharing your talents and we hope that everyone has an opportunity to stop down and see this beautiful work; on display November 7, 2018 through January 8, 2019
Our opening reception will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 6-8 pm in Harold Hacker Hall. All are welcome to join!
